Movies Watched in 2013:
77.) Mystery Team, 2009, dir. by Dan Eckman — 7/10
Independent, bold, and hilarious. Derrick Comedy has never been afraid to cross a line, and that’s a great thing. They might not ever make another movie, sadly, but we’ll always have the excellent Mystery Team. A constantly humorous look at growing up and strained friendships, this underrated little movie never fails to make me laugh loud and laugh often.

Keaton tries to read, falls victim to newspaper.
Newspaper humor.
To be fair, Keaton had a really good bit involving a Kindle Fire.

Adobe did a nice profile on my cousin Marke’s design firm The Made Shop. Marke designed the main titles and all the on-screen graphics for Looper, and worked with Zach Johnson (his brother) to create the oil painting poster.
William Robert Rich has posted a meticulous breakdown of the Looper script over on his site.
Vincent Cassel looking evil in a new poster for Danny Boyle’s Trance, which I am quite excited to see.

Mamie Van Doren lying on bed, circa 1960
Friendly reminder that Tom Felton improvised this scene because he forgot his line.
